Toolkit #12 - The Best Tech Brands of 2025

PC Mag recently released its highly anticipated list of the Best Tech Brands. This annual ranking isn't just another "best of" list; it provides insights into brand perception and customer satisfaction in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

PC Mag's methodology is what sets this ranking apart. They don't just rely on internal opinions. They meticulously combine two crucial data points:

  • Expert Reviews: PC Mag's own team of seasoned tech reviewers thoroughly evaluates products and services, providing in-depth analysis and ratings. This ensures a baseline of objective quality assessment.

  • Net Promoter Score (NPS): PC Mag goes straight to the source, surveying readers about their likelihood to recommend brands. This NPS component captures the crucial element of customer loyalty and satisfaction. It's a powerful indicator of how well brands are truly resonating with their audience.

This dual approach provides a holistic view, balancing objective product performance with subjective customer experience. It’s not just about having the best tech; it’s about having the best relationship with customers, too.

So, who made the cut in 2025? While you'll have to check out the article for the complete rankings, here's a sneak peek at what's interesting:

Top 10 Highlights:

  • The Top 10 brands represent the pinnacle of tech excellence, demonstrating both high-quality products and a strong connection with their customer base.

  • This year sees Nvidia take the top spot for 2025.

  • Expect to see familiar giants like Google holding their positions.

  • The list often reveals surprising shifts in consumer preference.

Biggest Movers:

  • Pay close attention to the brands that have climbed or fallen the most.

  • A notable standout is TP-Link, the brand I work for, which made a significant jump from 11th place to 8th behind Google. The solid placement in the Top 10 is a product of a strong customer satisfaction and increasing brand recognition.

  • Another interesting mover is Roku, which also saw a significant positive jump, moving into the Top 25 for the first time. As both a long-time user, and as someone who partnered with Roku while at TCL, it is no surprise of mine to see the jump thanks to their expanding content offerings and selection of hardware.

  • There are may notable audio brands that make the list. However, Sennheiser is the only one in the Top 10, thanks to good reviews and exceptionally high NPS. Perhaps not the best-known audio brand here, but I feel like this is an example of those who know good audio, know Sennheiser.

PC Mag's Best Tech Brands of 2025 might be a window into the hearts and minds of consumers, revealing what drives their loyalty and shapes their purchasing decisions.
